The Arc of Excellence is an exciting and challenging competition where students demonstrate their skills in structural design and construction. It serves as a platform for innovation and problem solving, requiring participants to design and construct a miniature arch using bricks, water, mud, shuttering, and wedges.
By blending theoretical knowledge with hands-on application, the competition allows students to tackle real-world engineering challenges while enhancing teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills.
The Arch of Excellence event saw enthusiastic participation from 13 teams representing various colleges. Each team, consisting of 3-4 members, was given a time limit of one hour to construct an arch using the provided arch framework, bricks, and mud mortar.
After allowing sufficient setting time, the event judge, carefully examined all the arches and conducted a viva session with each team.
